國民黨總統參選人洪秀柱確定出線，親民黨主席宋楚瑜是否投入總統大選引發關注，親民黨將在明天舉行「幹部會議」討論宋楚瑜參選的利弊得失，屆時黨內主戰派、主合派將再度交戰。親民黨立委提名人張碩文分析，宋楚瑜參選可能性很高。
國民黨全代會結束後，親民黨人士分析，「局勢都在預料之中」，並沒有太大的改變，雖然大老們共同站台營造氣勢，洪秀柱演說也講得慷慨激昂，但情勢並未扭轉，而且洪秀柱演說並無端出什麼令人耳目一新的牛肉，將更增添宋楚瑜參選的意願。
張碩文表示，老百姓希望新總統可以替台灣開創新局，但現在是民進黨總統參選人蔡英文極大，國民黨推出一個極小的候選人，沒有政績、沒有牛肉、沒有治理經驗，蔡英文只要發言保守就可選上，對人民不是好事。
